
FLI developed this Pharmaceutical Industry Awareness programme at the request of the Irish Pharmaceutical & Chemical Manufacturers Federation (IPCMF) under their Training Awareness Campaign (TAC). Designed specifically for the Irish Pharmaceutical Industry, it provides participants with a comprehensive overview of the industry and is suitable for both process operators and non-production personnel.
Objectives:
- Understand the structure of the industry and the regulatory framework by which it is governed
- Understand the systems the industry uses to produce a quality product in a safe and environmentally friendly fashion
- Develop the participants understanding of their role and responsibilities with regard to health and safety, environmental and quality issues in the pharmaceutical industry
- Develop an understanding of unit operations and waste management processes within the finished pharmaceutical and active pharmaceutical ingredients industry
- Understand the application of technology within the industry
- Develop an appreciation of the tools used for continuous improvement in the industry

Delivery: This programme is delivered over six full days training. It is advisable to leave a week between each workshop in order to enhance learning.
FLI can modify the course content to tailor it to be specific to individual companies. Specific company operations such as GMP procedures, Safety Management Systems, Environmental Systems, etc. can be incorporated, if required.
